Sidmouth Reef
From the A3052 (The main coast that runs from Exeter to Lyme Regis) take any of the well signposted Sidmouth turnings drive through the town following the signs for the seafront. Turn left at the seafront and follow the sea road along the Esplanade with the sea on your right shoulder. Look out for the Lifeboat Station on your left as you approach the end of the seafront (the carpark is near there). Go to the end of the road and you come to a small roundabout. Drop your Kit and buddies here on the shingle beach. The dive site is just out to sea beyond the cliffs that are straight ahead of you.Follow the road around the roundabout and head back towards the town. Take the right turn by the lifeboat station and there are a couple of car parks there. It is a short walk back to the beach
Site Description
Small rocky area just offshore. Not much of a reef - although some weed grows in the Summer. Only worth doing as a training dive (you never know something unusual can appear on any dive and make it special.)
Sidmouth itself is a nice town to visit, normally a peaceful little place it is home to a massive folk festival in the summer.

Marine Life Details
Normally sparse, however as with all wildlife you never know what you will see. Dolphins and Seals are sighted all along this coast and it only takes brief a sighting of something unusual to turn a dull dive into something special.
Other information
Worth the visit even if the diving isn't great. A pleasant seafront holiday town with good facilities and shops.
